EDGARTISTA One day I left home looking for a better opportunity for different dreams and ideals. Never imagined of this surprising turn then. I found something that change my life,completely! I am from Guatemala. El Pais de la eterna Primavera! (The Land of Eternity Spring), a beautiful country with Mayan culture. In 1999 I moved to Long Island (Stony Brook, New York) ,in 2005 I moved to Brooklyn,now my new hometown and starting point of my brand new journey! I started working in Manhattan. I commuted everyday taken the subway from Brooklyn. After two weeks of two hours commute after a long shift at work began to tiresome and depleting. I felt like I was completely wasting two hours of my life everyday doing nothing! I had to do something about it! Around that time I was studying Auto Cad computer program. For while I started to bring my book with me to study in the train and at the end of the day by the time I got to my computer to practice what I learned from book, I didn't remember much from the book! It turned out to be inefficient. Then I bought a drawing pad and a pen. While traveling I start drawing just lines after lines. My line strokes filled up a page within a week. I drew another page and more after that . People start asking me: What kind of Art was lining up on those pages? Where did I learn to do it? What school did I go to? Until one day I saw a picture of Manhattan and as soon my eyes set on it,my heart started pumping almost the same instant with fascination and impatience to draw it with my lines. So i did! By the time I was finishing up the Manhattan page, I wasn't satisfied with how it was concluding. I decided to spill the continuation onto another page. Those pages just followed one after the other. It is still continuing until today! I have been working on it every single day for two years. It looks it is going to take one more year. I started with the drawing of Manhattan. The idea expanded onto drawing of the whole world. I'm building with my lines a World City with one o more landmarks from every single country from around the world! When the drawing is complete you are not only going to see a realistic view of this World City,but also you will discover an imaginary,futuristic and abstract city viewed in your dreams. The secret is you just have to turn the drawing upside down. Two on one. The real world and the one we don't get to see yet! The Future," The New Millennium".
